# The Computer Language Benchmarks Game – Archived Examples

This repository contains old code examples from the well-known project "The Computer Language Benchmarks Game"
(formerly "The Shootout").

The Benchmarks Game compares programming languages by running equivalent implementations of the same algorithms
and measuring execution time, memory usage, and code size.

These examples are preserved here mainly for historical and educational purposes.
They are outdated and no longer reflect the current state of compilers, libraries, or the benchmark framework itself.
Before any new submission, all code should be reviewed, updated, or rewritten.

A future objective is to bring Lisaac Ω back into this competition.
Lisaac Ω is a modern evolution of the Lisaac language, designed for performance and expressiveness.
With proper implementations of the benchmark tasks, Lisaac Ω could realistically achieve top-level results in
several categories.

To reach this goal, this repository requires active maintenance.
We are looking for a volunteer to manage it and to coordinate the effort of updating and extending the benchmark
implementations. The tasks include:
- Reviewing the existing code and identifying what can be reused.
- Updating or rewriting implementations according to current best practices.
- Porting benchmark tasks to Lisaac Ω and ensuring they run reliably.
- Testing and profiling performance against current languages.
- Submitting new results to the Benchmarks Game project.

This repository is not an official mirror of the Benchmarks Game but an archive of old code examples.
